"Fat Tuesday"
02/12/2002
No, I do not mean that it is Tuesday and I'm still fat. As true as both those statements might be however, that will not be the focus of this update, boys and girls. Today is the last day of Mardi Gras. The last day to indulge in all those hedonistic revelries and feasting before Lent starts. It is also known as Pancake Day because the making of pancakes uses up rich ingredients like butter and eggs. (Oh you didn't know that you're not supposed to eat that stuff during Lent?? Heathens. *g*)
I'm fairly certain that most of you, my loyal readers, are either Pagan, Not-Affiliated-With or some form of Protestant. If you're anything like me, you don't really pay all that much attention to Mardi Gras (unless we're throwing a really big party!), Pancake Day (mmmmm... fluffy.) or Lent (not to be confused with "lint" of which we are ALL gleefully aware of thanks to The Marcy) other than wondering if this is one of those "present giving" kind of things. However this year, things shall be different.
I think this is such a good time to reevaluate all those New Year's resolutions and just where your are in this journey we call life. I'm going to actually use this time to *really* improve myself. Yes, that would be opposed to the half-assed attempts that I usually make, Mr. SnarkyDraw'rs. I'm doing well with my aforementioned life changes but I want to do better. I've started training for the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day walk (and yes, I will be hitting up each and every one of you, my loyal and faithful readers, for a donation to this worthwhile cause.). I'm hoping that as I get used to it, my leg won't swell up like a mo-fo after every training walk I do. I'll post more on the 3-Day once my number is officially on the website.
So what are you doing for Lent?

Yay YOU!!! Good luck with the continued improvements! (I'm so PROUD of him!!!! *G*)
Me, I'm giving up french fries (as usual). Had my last ones today. *g* I, also, will be focusing on improving myself through more dedication to an exercise program. I'm also gonna explore some personal issues and trying to let go of old beliefs hindering my personal journey and my new journey with Mr. The Clan Chief. (No, sorry, no details... *g*)
