"Storm"

07/06/2001

Wow... it's already July. The summer is half over and I feel like it should be sometime in April. I'm not ready for Summer! Damnit, I had things that I wanted to have done by now. Admittedly I have accomplished some things, just not all. And y'know how that just eats aways at my inner Virgo...

I did nothing for the 4th of July, except sleep late and consume valuable oxygen. The Clanlad was off at a cookout somewhere and it started pouring down rain (complete with thunder and lightning) right before sunset, thus negating any notions of trying to watch colored explosions in the night sky. I love thunderstorms though. There is something very primal and sensual about them. Plus the rhythm of the rain tapping the glass or echoing off the pavement is calming. Maybe that's the appeal of storms... the steady, almost monotonous, beat of the rain as the backdrop for the wildly unpredictable flashes of skyfire and the shock of the thunder as it reverberates through the core of your being.

Either that or I'm just stranger than people suspect.

Ok -- so it actually is July, and most of us haven't completed June's 'To-Do' list. But... since you brought it up, what we'd *really* like to know is what fabulous items were on your 'To-Do' list that you haven't gotten to yet... and do you need assistance with any of them?

Inquiring minds want to know.

P.S. -- Just because storms really are cool, doesn't mean that you're not stranger than people suspect.

You're giving me waaaay too much credit. You think I am actually organized enough to make a list???

I found my self last Sunday dancing and turning cartwheels on a roof-deck in a mid-summer storm... wearing a white tee-shirt, no less.(Actually two storms... We watched as two eyes pass over us.) It was like a celebration of the thunder and lightening off in the distance.

Okay, so I woke up monday in horrible pain (I hadn't done cartwheels in years), but it was fun... and a little strange...

And I can STILL manage a perfect cartwheel!

Ummm... sorry Annette, I'm not sure they're perfect cartwheels if they take a day or two to recover from!

With that said, I'm still impressed. I couldn't do cartwheels even when I was a child, so I'm not going to start trying now!

Actually, by perfect I meant arms straight, legs straight, no listing to the side and no landing on my arse.

The pain just means I aint as limber as I used to be.
